Food For Life Fundraising Breakfast

2012
We hosted our 5th annual Food for Life Breakfast at a brand new venue this year – and Town & Country Club in St. Paul set the mood for a wonderful morning for all who attended. The room was filled with dedicated supporters of Store To Door, the food was great and the messages from all who spoke were so heartfelt!
All our speakers shared what brought them to Store To Door, what our service means to the community and for some – their personal journey within Store To Door.

  • Diane Leonard spoke of her many years of volunteer service and being a staff member.
  • Betty Josephson brought her unique perspective of having been a volunteer for many years with her husband Jack – and now being a Store To Door client. Betty brought the room to tears
  • We had more supporters in attendance this year than ever before – and met our goal!
  • We had numerous vendors who work with Cub and they filled numerous tables.
  • Many in attendance chose to do three-year pledges, adding new members to our “Food for Life Society” and providing more financial stability to Store To Door and our clients.

Thank you very much to everyone who came to hear more about Store To Door and helped to support our vital work in the community. And a special thank you to our sponsors: UCare, Cub and The Columns Resources Group – Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.

2011

The Woman’s Club ballroom was filled to capacity for our 2011 Food for Life guests. Thank you all who attended and contributed so generously.

The highlights of the day:

  • Wendy Benson (Volunteer Order Taker) and Gayle Albee (client) meeting for the first time and sharing their experiences.
  • The event raised $34,150 (a substantial increase over last year) and about $15,000 of it was matched by a grant from the Katherine B. Andersen Fund of the Saint Paul Foundation.
  • We also received several three-year pledges, adding members to our Food for Life Society and providing more financial stability to Store To Door and our clients.

Thank you very much to everyone who attended, worked and contributed. And thank you to our sponsors Ecumen and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network – The Column Resources Group.

2010

Thank you to all the supporters of Store To Door who filled the ballroom of the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis on Thursday April 22 2010! Highlights of the breakfast included volunteer Larry Winkler sharing his experience as an order taker, staffer Sue Herridge talking about her personal experience as the daughter of a client and Brett Anderson, Board member, with casual charm, asked for financial support.

Thanks to the generosity of those attending, proceeds from the event exceeded the goal of $20,000 and about $15,000 of The Katherine B. Andersen fund of the St Paul Foundation matching grant for new and increased giving was used. Several three-year pledges were returned, helping to build the Food for Life Society, which in turn, helps provide a base of financial stability to the Board and staff, during these very uncertain economic times. Thanks so much to everyone who came, worked, enjoyed breakfast and contributed.

2009

On Thursday, June 4, 2009, Food for Life, Store To Door’s second annual fundraising breakfast, took place at the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis. Fifty-five people attended and heard the Store To Door story – those that made three year pledges joined the “Food for Life” Society. About $10,000 was raised and we thank all who showed their support of our grocery shopping and delivery service for home-bound seniors.
